In today’s Finance Minute, let’s talk about Timeless Truths about Real Estate.  When we say timeless we mean it’s just as good or true now as when it was created.

John D. Rockefeller said the major fortunes in America have been made in land.  Andrew Carnegie said 90% of all Millionaires become so through owning Real estate.  Let’s take for example Arnold Schwarzenegger, he is worth $300 million.  He got rich not from acting but through real estate investing.  In the 70’s Stephen Ross borrowed money from his mother to start investing in Real Estate and is now Worth $12 billion.  John Jacob Astor is richer than Jeff Bezos.  His wealth is from his Manhattan real estate investments totalling over $138 billion. 

These are stories and examples in the billions, and I am pretty sure you know of other people who made great fortunes through real estate.  Some people said they got lucky, they invested when it was cheaper.  Well, I bet today’s price is a lot cheaper than 30 years from now!  Money in real estate is made not by timing the market but by time in the market.
