At Karista Mortgage, we are committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of the personal information of our clients (individually, the “Client” and collectively, the “Clients”.) As financial service providers, we have a professional obligation to maintain in confidence information we receive within our role as a financial services provider. The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to advise you as to why we ask for personal information, how we use it, what safeguards we employ, and how to contact us with privacy-related matters.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

When visitors purchase tickets, contacts us or leave a comment on the website we collect the data shown in the forms, as well as the visitor’s IP address and the browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Who we share your data with and how long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

We use various methods to safeguard personal information, including physical security, computer, and electronic security, destruction of information no longer needed, and contractual protections with third party data processors.

What rights you have over your data

If you have purchased a ticket to one of our events using this site, have sent a message or comments on the website, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Karista Mortgage is responsible for the personal information under its control and our Chief Technical Officer (“CTO”) oversees our efforts to comply in all material respects with applicable privacy legislation and the terms of this Privacy Policy. The CTO and those designated by the CTO address and investigate questions or concerns regarding a client’s personal information.
